Things to in Geneva

Bike and Kayak

Rent a bike or kayak and a enjoy the Fox River! Bikes, kayaks, advice, maps, and directions can be found at Mill Race Cyclery, 630-232-2833.

Shop and Eat

There are over 150 independent small business in this area. I highly recommend you walk down State St. to 3rd St, and stroll past gift shops, home stores, fashion boutiques, wine stores, restaurants, and cafes.

Japanese Tea Garden

The Japanese Tea Garden at the Fabyan Forest Preserve is a one-acre garden on the Fox River with paths winding by a moon bridge, waterfall, pond, and teahouse.

Skate at the Fox Valley Ice Arena

The Fox Valley Ice Arena has two rinks, one NHL regulation at and an international rink, as well as a fitness center and a bar/restaurant. The public skate calendar can be found at this website: https://www.fvia.us/public-skate/

Ice Skates are available for rental.

Geneva French Market

Taking place on Sundays from 9 am to 2 pm, the French Market is a European-style market at the Metra Train Station parking lot.

The Kane County Cougars

Geneva has its own Minor League Baseball team, The Kane County Cougars, and the stadium holds close to 11,000. This is a great, laid-back place to watch a game, with tons of family entertainment, fantastic food and beer, as well as post-game fireworks.

Check out their schedule on their website, and if you're in town while they're playing I highly recommend taking in a game.

Outdoor Dining on Beautiful Patios

Geneva has so many excellent restaurants available, but here are some of my favorites for outdoor dining. All of them are within walking distance from The Herrington. Reservations are always recommended

French - Le Cochon

Mexican - Bien Trucha

Italian - Villa Verone

American - The James

Small Plates and Cocktails - The Alchemist

and of course...

Atwaters at The Herrington Inn
